It was the first time when I attended the Meet Magento in New York. It was pretty well organized in a comfortable place with great meals.
However, I had some expectations that were not fulfilled.
I expected to learn more about:
- some new features or functionalities that are planned for Magento Open Source
- some great examples of Magento shops – these were presented in the Awards part
- what is the direction for the Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce
- And of course, get some exciting contacts or potential clients – references – yes, potential clients – not so many merchants attended this conference.
The conference was divided into two days with topics: business, technical, and community-related.
The most interesting sessions for me:
-
Challenges and Successes of Building a Pureplay B2B Website
Adobe employees drove this session. Overall, there were presented the B2B pains, how e-commerce can help to solve them, and what Adobe Commerce especially did in this area. It was a pretty exciting part about contracts. We built B2B functionalities based on Magento Open Source in a few of our clients’ shops. Most of our clients’ shops are B2C and B2B online shops. However, it is interesting to see only B2B websites during Meet Magento NY 2023.

SMS campaign examples and marketing automation
I learned that SMS is still a powerful channel for marketing activities. It is very successful in most cases. You can use AI tools to recreate the content from your email content.
-
Cybersecurity session – Implications of Data Leaks on E-commerce Platforms
This is a hot topic that I will concentrate on in the coming years. There are so many cybersecurity events that target e-commerce sites mainly.

AI in eCommerce – Is AI Coming for My Magento Job?
AI can be good and evil, but we must learn how to use, live, and secure ourselves.

Why Developers Love Hyvä Theme, Checkout, UI, and…
This session was exciting to see how the Hyva developers are cooperating and helping each other for mutual success. This theme will be worth checking in my new projects. It looks very promising.
